In today’s day and age many people forget about the types of activities they can get themselves involved with outdoors. There are so many activities just about any able body can get involved with without any type of extensive training such as:

  • Biking: Biking is a great way to get your heart rate up while breathing in the great fresh purified air of the outdoors. If you don’t have a mountain bike, you can easily rent one at your local bike shop for under $20/day.
  • Swimming: Swimming is perhaps one of the easiest recreational activities to get involved in. If you don’t live near a body of water, many local community centers have very flexible swimming hours to suit your schedule. It might also not be such a bad idea to even invest in a swimming pool for your backyard.
  • Canoeing/Kayaking: This might be hard for you to do if you don’t live close to a body of water. If you don’t, this will be a great excuse to travel. Canoeing & kayaking are perhaps the most relaxing recreational activities. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery in nature.
  • Scuba Diving: You may have thought that you scuba diving requires a license. However, it doesn’t. Most scuba diving shops will allow you to take a quick 30 – 60 minute safety course before they allow you to go out and dive. The only limitation is that you’ll be required to swim in close proximity with your instructor. However, each dive you do with an instructor contributes to helping you get your scuba diving certification in the future.
  • Sky Diving: Sky Diving, just like scuba diving doesn’t require a license either. Most sky diving shops allow you to do a Tandem Skydive where you’re strapped up to an experienced sky diver who controls the dive for you.
